The Madness: Classic Creatures and Vampire Features – Week 2 Results

The Madness is an annual gathering of horror aficianados as they attempt to watch an unhealthy amount of horror related movies and television shows through the holiday season. Here are my week 2 viewings.

20.   The Brides of Dracula (1960) 85m – DVD
Initial Viewing – Good, but not great sequel to The Horror of Dracula.  I would have liked to have seen Christopher Lee return. I rate this 7/10.

21.   Supernatural – Live Free or Twihard (Season 6, Episode 5) 60m – Streaming
Initial Viewing – Timely episode for The Madness.  Love this show and thought the jab at Twilight was fantastic. I rate the show 8.5/10.

22.   The Howling (1981) 91m DVD
Repeat Viewing  – Very good werewolf flick that was overshadowed by An American Werewolf coming out the same year.

23.   The Dracula Saga (1973) 90m DVD
Repeat Viewing – This Spanish release doesn’t have the flair of a Naschy release and was a bit of a chore to sit through.  I rate this 5.5/10.

Repeat Viewing – Really like this Canadian offering.  I rate this 8/10.

25.   Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004) 93m – DVD
Repeat Viewing – W/10.hile not nearly as fun as the first movie, Unleashed holds its own. I rate this a 7/10.

26.   Requiem for a Vampire (1971) 95m Streaming
Initial Viewing – Jean Rollin sure likes his boobies – not sure about his movies yet though. More research is needed. I rate this a 6/10.

27.   Troll (1986) 82m Streaming
Initial Viewing – More fantasy than horror, but still a pretty cool movie.  I’m not sure how this escaped me growing up. I rate this a 7/10.

Reviewed on Cenobite Me – This gets my vote for best handheld cam movie! I rate this a 9/10.

30.   Supernatural – You Can’t Handle the Truth (Season 6, Episode 6) 60m – Streaming
I love how Supernatural jumps all over the place when it comes to different religions, myths and folklore.

31.   Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood (1996) 87m – DVD
Not as good as Demon Knight, but still enjoyable.  I would like to see them do more CryptKeeper Features. I rate this a 6.5/10.

I really like this adaptation of the Marvel character.  I rate this a 7.5/10
